Using Cisco VPN client and the new portable wireless card, I can connect to VPN, but can not see any action.?
In fact, is my boss who is having this problem and I'm trying to help. He had one before and I had the chance to help. He is using a wireless card on your laptop to connect to our corporate VPN through your wireless router. Cisco Client version 4.6. You can connect to the VPN. Logging succeeds without error messages, but can not browse any network resources. I have attempted to ping on network servers and various pings any of the work (it was the use IP addresses, not domain names, to rule out DNS problems). Any idears? Supposedly, the network settings were not changed after installing your new mobile NIC.
could be the firewall is blocking VPN access routers. wireless security settings are different from cable to connect the router and see if there is a way to either make an exception for VPN or disable the firewall, anyway in a secure network so it should not be a problem. Also make sure the laptop is also not blocking VPN through the wireless connection firewall settings. You may have to manually open ports certain to allow access and it really sounds like it may be to go beyond the scope of what we know so if you turn on exceptions and allow vpn does not resolve the problem that will need to get a hold of the IT company for any additional configuration changes.
