wireless router netgear wgr614 setup
Can I connect a router to my cable modem?

I am hoping to set up a wireless network in my home so I can play my PSP and Nintendo DS online. Currently, I have cable internet. The internet cable runs into my Motorola SB5101 Cable Modemthen an ethernet cord runs from the modem into my PC.
What I’m wondering is, if I were to buy a wireless router (such as the Netgear WGR614 could I alter my current setup so that the ethernet cord from my Cable Modem runs into the Router (instead of my PC), thus creating a wireless internet connection that I can use with my DS/PSP? Or will the router not work that way?
Thanks!

Yes you can connect it just like you said, with modem to router, and router to pc and other devices to router via wireless connection
