Connect Two Wireless Routers…?
I would like to connect my two routers together Wirelessly (not using ethernet because its not practical to run an ethernet cable to it). I have the two routers and don’t see why I should buy yet another unit: wireless repeater.
How can I set up the two Linksys WRT54GL routers to make a wider wireless cover? The main router will host the DHCP and internet connection but i would like the second router to ‘latch’ on to the other router and ‘re-broadcast’ the wireless network. I don’t mind it just repeating the wireless network or creating a new one (the main router having an SSID of Name1 and the 2nd router having an SSID of Name2) either way would be great.
Any information on how to achieve this will be very useful.
I don’t mind downloading third party firmware for the routers.
Thanks
You need to go to the settings of the 2nd router and enable wireless bridge; Follow the prompts and fill in the blanks. then the 2nd router is just going to re-broadcast the signal of the main or 1st router, You should not need 3rd party software for this.
Good Luck
