wireless router on wired network

I'm on a wired network and want to use a USB device to configure a wireless network?

I have no wireless router so I was expecting it was possible to use the wireless USB adapter in my computer to broadcast the wireless signal to my laptop to collect and leaching Internet from my main computer.
