wireless router vs wired routers
Does my band internet connection to be affected by a router?

We have a computer and a modem now. I recently got a laptop and I would get on the net too. We are concerned that a router will slow network speed. Say if the two are in are own computers and network, at the same time, network speeds are slower? I am not a computer for any help would be greatly appreciated. I also read that a wired router would better for a wireless vs speed. We're going to get the router by cable. Or maybe someone knows differently, if we have two computers with high speed connections Internet at the same time? Thanks!

The router will have little effect on the speed of your connection. What affects your speed is what both teams are while at the same time while connected to the Internet. If both are not downloading movies and looking on youtube at the same time, then most likely be fine. I have two desktop computers, two printers, three laptops, two BlackBerrys, two boxes of Apple TV and two Slingbox attached to my Internet connection through a wireless router and a switch. Everything works fine.
