Best wireless channel to use?
I want to change my channel to last week when I am down my boyfriend (who uses the Internet bt homehub) my mobile keeps disconnecting or wont connect at all, since your reset the router (homehub) Im in the UK. What is the best channel to choose from 1 to 11? was 1 before when ive changed to 6. Is this a good or? His work at the mo, but was working before changing the channel, I hope it works, ive been to shut down the laptop then when I wake up the next day grrr I can not connect. Any advice?
Take a look to see what other wireless networks operating in your area – you can see what channel they are in even if they are secured. Then steer well clear of them so that the signals do not interfere each other. Along wireless channels overlap so you need five channels away to be completely clear of the other networks. In practice this means you are limited three non-overlapping networks in a particular area.
