wireless router works but no internet
Portable wireless Internet operates several feet router upstairs but when there is limited or no connection?

I have a Toshiba laptop Satellite from 2007. Is Windows XP Service Pack 3 (V 5.1). My ISP is Verizon FiOS is a router. I have a LAN connection that works well and wireless connection that performs well at a distance. Once you climb the stairs, the wireless connection does not work. Used to work, but gets progressively worse, does not allow me to use my wireless internet in my room which is located on the 3rd floor (router in the basement). I tried to reset both the router and the computer but not work. I have sent a message to the repair and the sign of performance and "Limited or no connectivity." Sometimes I go up and connect to the Internet and says connection BUT very good or excellent in my web browser says internet not connected. I use mozilla firefox. If you need more information just email me or post here

1. Each wireless solution has a limit of how far. You can be off-limits, which could change over time if your wireless router has been moved, or if new blockages (such as moving behind another wall, or doors closed) Therefore, it might be just that. 2. It is possible your laptop connects to a different wireless network when you're up – like a neighbor. You can go to Network Connections in Control Panel to restrict WiFi access routers. If you move the mouse over the icon in the tray where it says "very good" or "excellent relationship" and must display the name of wifi router that is connecting. If that other router is secure, you could have a strong connection, but not be able to access anything.
