XBOX 360, hardwired alternative or ways to get hardwired connection?
I have a XBOX 360 elite with the xbox 360 wireless adapter running off of my verizon wireless router which is downstairs.
i get a strong signal on my laptop in the same room and on my xbox BUT ill start a game online and 3/4 of the way through the 1st quarter usually, it will cut off and disconnect.
I can reset the router, and a few hours later my connection will be good with no d/c’s for a day or 2, then ill have to repeat the process.
Its getting pretty frustrating…I kno the answer to the problem is to run a wired connection BUT i cant run an ethernet cable through 2 levels of my house that i rent.
Would ethernet over powerline work better?
could i pay for another dsl connection and run the modem in my room?(its my understanding that only 1 dsl line can work per line)
any help would be HIGHLY appreciated.
here’s a solution to try:
Setup your xbox in a hardwired network, using the ethernet cable, hook your laptop to the xbox, on your laptop, setup a network that enable internet sharing.
Go to control panel>network connections>run the network setup wizard
Run through the when and make sure that you “enable internet sharing” along the way
Now connect to the internet via wireless on your laptop.
Go to the xbox and test your xbox live connection.
That should work for you.
I use the same setup, except I use a desktop, and my internet connection (on the PC) is through phone-as-modem (which suprisingly runs way better than any other way of using LIVE in my opinion)
